Recruiting: Dent Has Seen Both OSU, UT

Defensive end Randall Dent of South Grand Prairie, Texas, is one of the top prospects in Texas and the 6-5, 270-pound defensive end has Oklahoma State on his list. In fact, he was in Stillwater a couple of weeks ago for the Cowboys' first junior day.

"I've been offered by, of course, Oklahoma State, Oregon, and Texas Tech," said Dent. "I am also interested in LSU, Texas, Florida and Notre Dame. I went to Oklahoma State and Texas for junior days.

"At Oklahoma State I really liked it," continued Dent. "I liked the campus and the changes they are making to their facilities. Those are going to be very nice. I also know some of the players, Deron Fontenot and Richetti Jones. His dad coached me in pee-wee football.

"I've been to Texas a couple of times for camps," added Dent. "It is a big school and I like it a lot down there."

Dent is really attractive because of his size and that he can run 4.9 in the 40-yard dash. He has great speed. Last season he made 60 tackles with five sacks, three fumbles recovered, and two fumbles caused. He has a 290-pound bench press and a 450-pound squat max.

"I didn't have a favorite school growing up, just loved football and watched everybody," said Dent. "My parents don't have a favorite. They just want the best opportunity for me. I want to major in sports management."

Dent said he will take his time with his decision, and besides he is a little busy right now with basketball. South Grand Prairie opens the playoffs next Tuesday as the Warriors take on Arlington Bowie in the first round.
