Recruiting: Webb Gets OSU's Full-Court Press

Another Web site is reporting that All-State offensive guard prospect Brandon Webb of Owasso, Okla., is nearing a decision, and hinted that decision might be Oklahoma. There is no doubt that the Sooners have the advantage with his father being former OU All-American offensive lineman Terry Webb, but Webb did not give us the indication that he is either close to a decision or that OU is the leader.

"I have offers now from Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri, Texas Tech along with Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and Tulsa," said the 6-4, 290-pound Webb. "I haven't come up with a game plan yet on making a decision. I do want to make a decision before the season. I'll be trying to decide before the season."

Webb, who said he may be throwing the shot put before the end of the spring at Owasso, added that he has seen a few coaches from Oklahoma State during the recently opened evaluation period.

"There were seven of them here yesterday," said Webb, meaning seven assistant coaches. "Then Coach Wick (offensive line coach Joe Wickline) was back today."

The Cowboys are actively recruiting two lineman at Owasso with both Webb and teammate Gavin Howard (6-6, 270 pounds) being pursued by the Cowboys.

Webb said he is considering Pyschology for his major and he also said that he did not visit any schools' spring game or spring practice.
