Recruiting: Dupy Gets Another Offer

Defensive tackle prospect and recently added center prospect Trent Dupy of Enid, Okla., has added an offer. Head coach Gene Chizik and Iowa State have offered Dupy to come to Ames and play defensive tackle.

Dupy got his first offer a couple of weeks ago when Tulsa asked him to move over and try center at its camp and he played over there so well that Todd Graham and his staff offered the 6-2 1/2, 280-pounder.

Dupy has good quickness and has a reported 410-pound bench press max and a 500-pound best on squats.

He has been in Oklahoma State's prospect and three-day camp for one session. In one he played center and in the other defensive tackle. He made the first team at center in the prospect camp under the eyes of Joe Wickline and had a good session in full pads on defense being watched by line coach Glenn Spencer and defensive coordinator Tim Beckman.

"I like the in-state schools, but I'm excited about this offer from Iowa State and I am going to go to two more camps, Arkansas and up to Iowa State," said Dupy. "I never made it up to Kansas (last week) because my parents just got tired. I know they were disappointed I didn't make it and they've said they (KU) may go ahead and offer."

Dupy had 78 tackles last season at defensive tackle and has been a three-year starter. He also had 12 tackles for loss and four sacks for Enid.

"I really hope I showed all I can at these camps," added Dupy, who is taking his time for now but may have to decide on something if the commitment lists at the schools offering start looking congested.
