Cowboy Football: Team Reports Wednesday

STILLWATER - Oklahoma State football players, the 105 that are slated to initially be involved in preseason camp, are scheduled to report to Stillwater and the coaches offices between 2-4 p.m. Wednesday. All the physicals have been conducted, all the equipment has been passed out, and all the living arrangements have been arranged and the players are moved in.

Wednesday will include completing some paperwork for the University and for the athletic department, an initial team meeting to get everybody introduced and ready, and to go over the itinerary for preseason camp, which will go on through Aug. 17, the day before classes begin.

In that time there will be some 19 practice sessions, countless meetings, and anything and everything that the coaching staff feels is necessary to set the table for a successful season. There will also be a healthy welcome back edition of the training table to get everybody in a positive mood for the start of camp.

The first practice will be on Thursday at 4:45 p.m. The first hour is open to the public and that will be the same routine for the first seven practices, except for Saturday's early 8 a.m. practice that will be open to the public in its entirety.

The past two days the coaching staff has traded being at the coaching clinics and conventions in Oklahoma and Texas with the offensive staff in Oklahoma City on Monday and in San Antonio on Sunday. The defensive staff was in San Antonio on Monday and in Oklahoma City on Tuesday.

There has been no new news in recruiting as the Oklahoma State staff is waiting on its current top choice at quarterback, Drew Allen of San Antonio (Alamo Heights), Texas, to decide. It would appear that Allen is trying to decide between Oklahoma State, Mississippi, and late interest from Oklahoma.
