Recruiting: Linsenmeyer Views Facilities

Bowdie Linsenmeyer is a big name in Indiana high school football. The 5-10, 190-pound running back out of West Lafayette (Harrison) is a major recruiting prospect for 2010. Linsenmeyer is connected to Stillwater through his family as his mother married former Oklahoma State heavyweight wrestler and ex-assistant coach Tom Erikson. Erikson is currently the assistant coach for wrestling at Purdue.

Linsemeyer was getting a close up look Monday at Oklahoma State practice, a tour of the new facilities, and after practice was spotted conversing with Cowboys head coach Mike Gundy. Linsenmeyer was in Stillwater for the funeral of his great-grandmother Gertrude Pauline Linsenmeyer, who passed away last week at the age of 92.

Linsemeyer was shown around Monday by Cowboys director of recruiting Robert Matthews.

How good is the Indiana runner? He's pretty good, as in earning All-State honors as a sophomore. Last season he had 1,565 yards and 17 touchdowns on 269 carries for Harrison. He averaged 5.8 yards a carry.

He is also reportedly a force on defense and a big hitter on that side of the ball. On Friday night, before heading to Oklahoma with his family, he rushed for 156 yards and three touchdowns in a 41-28 win by Harrison over Fishers High School.
