Recruiting: Furr Likes What He Saw At OSU

Linebacker LeRon Furr of Columbus (Carver), Ga., returned our call from the airport in Atlanta after he and his father had landed on their way back home from a weekend official visit to Oklahoma State.

"We just landed and then we're driving back to Columbus," said the 6-3, 213-pound linebacker that is to the point in conversation just as he is on the football field. "It (the visit) went good. I liked it and my dad liked it."

When asked what stood out for him on the trip Furr made it sound like everything was the same, albeit good.

"The food, the game, the facilities," was his answer. "Coach (Robert) Matthews showed me around and my player host was Quencey Patrick. I know him because we went to the same high school (Pacelli Catholic in Columbus) when I was a freshman).

LeRon Furr told us he did not mind if we checked back with him down the line. He finished by letting us know that he and his Carver teammates, defending state champs, play LaGrange (Troup) High School this coming Friday.

Furr has a number of schools recruiting him but he has said he would definitely visit Oklahoma State, which he did. He has a visit scheduled for Duke on Oct. 18, and he has said he will also visit Arkansas.

"I am definitely considering Oklahoma State after my visit this weekend," he added.
