Recruiting: Lowe Happy With Win, Visit

Defensive back Daytawion Lowe of Midwest City (Carl Albert), Okla., moonlights on the offensive side of the ball and he did much more than that on Thursday night as he lined up at tight end and caught a 76-yard touchdown pass early in the game as the now second-ranked Titans defeated the now third-ranked Guthrie Blue Jays 16-13.

"I've been hearing that a lot lately," said Lowe of the congratulations on the touchdown pass against Guthrie. "Definitely, it felt great. That was a huge win for us and puts us in the driver's seat in district. We're that much closer to those two home games in the playoffs."

The Carl Albert Titans host Ardmore this week in a serious district game as well. Meanwhile, Lowe is still involved in college recruiting.

Lowe had earlier taken an official visit to Nebraska for the Huskers game with Virginia Tech. He has also mentioned Pittsburgh and Stanford along with his in-state favorite Oklahoma State. However, an unofficial visit to OSU for its homecoming win on Saturday over Baylor may have put the Cowboys back in the driver's seat.

"It went great and they are playing great," said Lowe of his unofficial visit to see the Cowboys' 34-6 win over Baylor and his visit to the OSU locker room afterwards. "I think a lot of people underestimated how good they are. Right now, I'm OSU all the way."

Lowe was very caught up in all the emotion and said he was not committed, but Oklahoma State is back to being at the very top of his list.

In the meantime Lowe, and his high school teammates, will continue to work toward the goal to deliver yet another 5A state title to Carl Albert.
