Recruiting: QB To Visit Iowa State Saturday

Quarterback Taylor McHargue of Cedar Park (Vista Ridge), Texas, is heading to Ames, Iowa this weekend to make an official visit with Iowa State.

"They will be playing Texas A&M," said the 6-2, 190-pound speedy signal caller. "They first contacted me two weeks ago and looked at my video. They had watched me throw in person. Then they invited me on Monday. I'm excited and looking forward to going up there."

McHargue is on a roll even though his team lost last week to a intercity rival 31-21.

This week we have a chance to see McHargue and Vista Ridge go against Round Rock. That game is on Friday and then McHargue will head to Iowa State.

As for the rest of his recruiting, it is still pretty steady.

"I hear by phone and by mail from Oklahoma State every week," said McHargue. "I also hear from Texas A&M, Colorado State, West Point, Houston, Air Force, and Rice.

"The schools that are recruiting me the hardest are Colorado State, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, and now Iowa State. Like we were talking about before it's playing Division I and that is what is important to me. The Big 12, SEC, and others are higher, but I really want the opportunity to play Division I."

McHargue is a busy guy these days and deservedly so, he's playing well.
