Recruiting: Smith Still Committed To OSU

Running back Jeremy Smith of Tulsa (Union), Okla., is having a good season, although he seems very reluctant. Smith has 133 carries for 722 yards and 11 touchdowns thus far for the 6-1 Redskins. He is averaging 5.4-yards-per-carry. Smith and the Union Redskins take on Ponca City this week as they continue their march to the playoffs.

Smith was in Stillwater on an unofficial visit last Saturday for the Cowboys' homecoming game against Baylor. Smith is committed to Oklahoma State and was the Cowboys first verbal pledge as he made the commitment last February. Since then he has stayed with the commitment but shown interest in a couple of other Big 12 schools.

"It was all right," said Smith of the visit to OSU and the game. "It was kind of over so we left early."

Smith said he was not one of the prospects that got to check out the OSU locker room afterwards as he had already left.

As for those other schools, that has changed some too.

"I've cut Kansas but I'm still going to go up to Missouri and check it out," said Smith who maintains that he is still committed to Oklahoma State.
