Recruiting: Paulsen, Lowe Among Visitors

STILLWATER - As Oklahoma State moved to 8-1 on the season by pounding Iowa State 59-17, the Cowboys entertained approximately 41 prospects. All of those were unofficial visits with the exception of Georgia fullback prospect David Paulsen, who was there on an official visit and was accompanied by his parents.

Paulsen appeared to be having a good time and the 6-3, 240-pounder was quoted last week as saying if his visit went well he was ready to make a commitment to the Cowboys. Paulsen helped his team stay unbeaten on Friday night with a win and they have one game remaining to finish an unbeaten regular season.

The most visible of the unofficial visitors was Carl Albert defensive back/wide receiver Daytawion Lowe, who made his public pledge to Oklahoma State on Thursday at Carl Albert High School by unzipping his jacket to reveal an OSU license plate hanging around his neck.

Lowe also had an OSU birthday cake made as he made the commitment on his mother's birthday. Lowe was in Stillwater Saturday with teammate and linebacker Christian Smith, who is also being recruited by the Cowboys. Carl Albert beat Durant 42-7 on Friday night.

Early commitment Brandon Webb was in attendance as well. He has really sparked a run for the Rams since he came back from a knee injury. Webb is going to be a two-time All-State choice.

Some speculations have Clint Chelf of Enid, Okla., as the Cowboys' top quarterback prospect. Chelf threw for a couple of touchdowns as the Plainsmen clinched a playoff spot with a crazy bench-clearing brawl marred 34-16 win over Ponca City.

Chelf is committed to Tulsa but has still been receptive to being recruited by Oklahoma State. Chelf wasn't the only quarterback in the house on Saturday as Norman North signal caller Tyler Tettleton, fresh off leading his team to a huge win on Thursday over Edmond Santa Fe, also made the trip to Stillwater.

Below is a list of all the prospects that were at the game with quests Saturday. Players that have an asterisk have been offered a scholarship by the Cowboys.
