Recruiting: JUCO Safety Likes OSU

His final junior college season over, Andrew McGee is focused on finding his next college home. The mid-term graduate from Copiah-Lincoln (Miss.) Community College has the Oklahoma State Cowboys on the mind.

"Oklahoma State has offered," said the 6-1, 195-pound strong safety. "UAB has offered and there are other colleges that are paying attention to me, but it Oklahoma State that I'm feeling really good about right now."

McGee led his team in tackles this season with more than 100 and he also had an interception playing the strong safety position. He is a shoe-in to be all-conference in the tough Mississippi juco league.

"I'll tell you how tough it is," said McGee. "We finished 4-5 and had a lot of close games. We beat Gulf Coast (Community College) and they are in the championship game now. Everybody was beating up on everybody in this conference."

McGee, who is from Magee, Miss. originally, is scheduled to visit Oklahoma State on the weekend of the Bedlam game with Oklahoma.

"I'm real strong on Oklahoma State and yeah, I've heard about Bedlam," said McGee. "I can't wait to come down there on my visit. It is going to be great."

He also said he has caught Oklahoma State on the television and watched games.

"I've been so impressed with the defense and the offense," said the junior-to-be at some school this spring. "That offense is really something to watch. They are exciting."

McGee said he will make a decision pretty soon after that visit to Oklahoma State as he plans to sing on the J.C. signing day in early December.
