10 Questions: Torin Walker

Oklahoma State expects to sign up to six players during the early signing period which begins Wednesday. GoPokes.com visited with several of those players recently, asking them 10 questions to help Cowboy fans get to know them better. Here are the answers provided by Torin Walker, a 6-10, 225-pound senior from Columbus (Northside), Ga., who is ranked as the 28th-best center prospect in the nation.

Q: Do you have any special plans for when you sign?
Walker: I'm having a ceremony at my school at 1:30 Wednesday.

Q: What was your deciding factor in committing to the Cowboys?
Walker: It had all the keys and points I was looking for in a college. I was looking for a good team, good coaches, a place to get a good education, a good environment to be around ... good fans.

Q: What are three words that describe you as a person?
Walker: Smart. Respectful. Outgoing.

Q: What are three words that describe you as a basketball player?
Walker: Competitive. Smart. Athletic.

Q: What is your favorite thing to do on the basketball court?
Walker: Rebound.

Q: What's your favorite thing to do off the court?
Walker: Hang out with friends.

Q: If you don't go on to play in the NBA, what would you like to do?
Walker: I would like to be a sports broadcaster, study sports medicine or be a pharmacist.

Q: What are you most looking forward to in terms of playing at Oklahoma State?
Walker: There's a lot of stuff I'm looking forward to ... the players, the fans, the big rivalry games. I'm really looking forward to college.

Q: What do you feel will be your biggest challenge in moving from high school to college?
Walker: Probably the physicality of the game.

Q: Who is the one player on OSU's roster, or in your recruiting class, that you are most excited to be teammates with next season?
Walker: Fred Gulley.
