Recruiting: Furr Narrows It Down

Linebacker LeRon Furr of Columbus (Carver), Ga., may be Oklahoma State's top out of state linebacker prospect. He has already visited and he has narrowed his field down to the Cowboys and Arkansas with a slight possibility of North Carolina State getting in the mix after fielding 12 scholarship offers this spring, summer and fall.

"Actually I don't really know too much about N.C. State yet," said Furr earlier to PackPride. "They've been recruiting me pretty hard and I like what they've said but I just don't know enough about them yet to say much. I do want to visit sometime but I don't know when I'll do that."

Furr told Go Pokes that he really has it narrowed down to OKlahoma State and Arkansas and that he will check out OSU again unofficially with the Bedlam game this weekend. When he made his official visit to Stillwater his dad was with him, but mom needs to see it too.

"It was really good on that visit," said Furr of the October visit. "I liked it and my dad liked it. The food was good and the facilities were unbelievable."

Furr did not know his stats from the season but felt he had played really well.

"I'm just playing linebacker and I feel like I've improved a lot," said the 6-3, 220-pounder. "I'm just finding the ball and getting to it a lot faster this year."

Furr said seeing Oklahoma State again will help toward a decision he hopes to make within the next several weeks.
