Recruiting: Webb Gets Visit From Gundy

Where did Mike Gundy go on the day after Bedlam and the first day the head coach gets out on the road recruiting? We know one of his stops was to the house of Owasso, Okla., offensive lineman and Oklahoma State commitment Brandon Webb.

"The coaches were just here. Coach Gundy and Coach Wick (Wickline)," said Webb when we talked to him earlier this evening. "It was a lot of fun and it went well."

The 6-4, 310-pound Webb is the son of former OU All-American offensive guard Terry Webb and is certain to be announced soon as a two-time All State performer for Owasso. Webb committed to the Cowboys back in June and he told us Sunday night that on top of the Gundy visit he is rock solid with his pledge to Oklahoma State.

"I am still the same," said Webb. "I went to the game yesterday and it was okay. It just got away a little bit at the end. In the fourth quarter it was close and could have gone either way."

Webb said he is unsure it he will participate in any spring sports, maybe track with the shot put. He said right now he is just concerned with working out and is getting ready for the U.S. Army All-American Game in San Antonio, Texas. "I'm excited. I leave the day after Christmas," he added.

Webb is a major signee for Oklahoma State with the likes of David Washington and Steve Denning leaving on the offensive line and Andrew Lewis being a senior next season. Webb is a prospective major building block for the future on the offensive front.
