Recruiting: Moore Commits To Cowboys

Quarterback/safety Charlie Moore did call up Oklahoma State offensive line coach Joe Wickline on Sunday night and commit to the Cowboys, it has been confirmed. Moore, who had been previously pledged to Louisiana-Monroe, was in Stillwater over the weekend with family on an unofficial visit and took in the Cowboys' practice Saturday morning watching from the suites.

Warhawk Nation.com is also reporting that Moore has changed his commitment from ULM to OSU. One source said that Oklahoma State was trying to keep Moore's recruitment quiet so as not to draw attention to the "sleeper" from East Texas.

Moore, who is 6-3 and right at 200 pounds and runs a 4.5 and change in the 40, posted some huge numbers this past season at Bullard (Texas) High School. He ran for 1,150 yards and 19 touchdowns and threw for 1,950 yards and 20 touchdowns.

He also posted 75 tackles on defense with two interceptions and two fumble recoveries. Those numbers came playing in a district that includes the likes of Class 3A Texas powerhouses Gilmer, Tatum, Tyler Chapel Hill, and Longview Spring Hill.

As a junior, Moore completed 63-of-114 passing for 1,252 yards passing with eight touchdowns and seven interceptions. He ran 117 times for 746 yards and 15 touchdowns. On defense at free safety he had 63 tackles with five interceptions.

His high school head coach, Jim Taylor, calls him a "solid leader."

Just to show his athleticism, on the baseball diamond last season Moore hit .455 with 23 RBIs, eight doubles, and three home runs. Moore is a talented athlete that could plug in at a variety of positions with wide receiver reportedly being the first spot that Moore will be looked at.

We have attempting to reach Moore throughout the day Monday but have been unsuccessful so far in doing so.
