Recruiting: OSU on Hurst's Itinerary

You need him to visit sometime before you can get them and at the all important cornerback position on defense where Oklahoma State needs to add talent they have a chance with one of the best as DeMontre Hurst out of Lancaster, Texas, is rated as the 40th best corner in the nation by Scout. Hurst has decided to visit Oklahoma State next weekend over North Carolina.

"Yes, I am going to Oklahoma State next weekend," said the 5-11, 180-pound speedster that also runs track. "I am going to Oklahoma State and then Miami on Jan. 23. It is really down to three schools (including Arizona, where he visited in December)."

Hurst had 75 tackles, three fumbles recovered and one fumble caused this past season. He also had five interceptions with one going back for a touchdown and had two scores off kick returns and one blocked kick for a two-point conversion. We are talking a very athletic and active player on the defensive side of the ball and on special teams. He has better than 4.4 speed.

Hurst said he is excited about getting into the main part of his recruiting period with these next two visits and discussed what he is looking for.

"I'm not looking at too much. Mainly I want to meet all of the coaches," he said. "See the schools, basically that and check out the facilities."

Asked what could end up blowing him away and making a difference, he was short. "Atmosphere, the atmosphere around the school and football," added Hurst.

What is the 3.0 student with a 1290 SAT looking to major in? "I've been going back and forth on that," he started. "I'm looking at sports management or sports marketing or maybe business management. Those two things."

He has been quoted as saying Miami is his leader, but he said he is looking at all three schools equally right now. It's down to Arizona, Miami and Oklahoma State - listed in alphabetical order.
