Recruiting: Giles Still Interested In Cowboys

Safety Quinn Giles of Shreveport (Evangel Christian), La., is just getting started with his recruiting tour as he visited nearby Louisiana Tech this past weekend. Giles made 66 tackles and intercepted four passes on defense while catching 88 passes for 1,485 yards and 18 touchdowns at wide receiver on offense.

"They are pretty good and they have come a long way." said the 5-10, 185-pound Giles of Louisiana Tech and his visit this weekend. "That was a big deal with them in the Independence Bowl this season. I had a great visit."

Now Giles moves on to three more scheduled visits with Vanderbilt next on Jan. 16.

"Coach Belin (Vanderbilt) and I are tight," said Giles. "He really cares about you and he told me he is going to be there for me whether I go to Vanderbilt or not. Also, Coach Johnson, the head coach, came to see me play this season and this is a big deal."

After Vanderbilt, Giles has a visit to Stillwater and Oklahoma State up for Jan. 23.

"Coach (Jason) Jones and I talk every week and I really like him," said Giles. "Plus Oklahoma State is just six hours away. I've got to check it out."

Follwoing that trip Giles is scheduled for one more stop with a visit to TCU.

"Recruiting-wise, I'm going to take it one at a time," said Giles, who said he does not have a clear-cut favorite heading into his busy January of official visits.
