Recruiting: Rogers Says He Is Solid

Defensive lineman Anthony Rogers of North Little Rock, Ark., is one of the highlights on the Oklahoma State commitment list. Scout's 73rd-ranked defensive end is a tremendous athlete that committed early to Mississippi State but switched his pledge when Sylvester Croom was out as the Bulldogs head coach and changed to Oklahoma State.

A very intelligent Rogers that plans on majoring in pre-med and pursuing a career in medicine, told Scout Yancy Porter last week that he was being pursued by Ole Miss.

"I have only been on one visit and that was to OSU on December 12th," Rogers told Porter. "I do not believe I am going on anymore visits, but I am not sure yet.

"Ole Miss came by my house right before the dead period, and they talked about their campus a little bit. Me, my mom, and my dad are going to discuss about me taking a visit over there. We just have not sat down and talked about it. They are suppose to be coming by the house again this week."

Rogers told me Wednesday night that he does not plan to take any more visits and that he is not considering any other schools in recruiting.

"There is nothing going on and I'm not talking to any other schools," he said. "I'm committed to Oklahoma State."

We will be speaking to Rogers next week for his story in the upcoming recruiting issue and will likely center it around his interest in science and in medicine and his desire to become a doctor.
