Recruiting: Webb's Visit Is Confirmation

Brandon Webb committed to Oklahoma State back in June and he made several trips to Stillwater to watch the Cowboys during the 2008 football season, but he finally made his official visit this weekend. The 6-foot-4, 310-pound offensive lineman from Owasso, Okla., visited with shortly after returning home Sunday afternoon.

Webb, who is ranked as the nation's 15th-best offensive guard prospect, said the trip to Stillwater was just confirmation that he made the right decision when he committed to Oklahoma State.

"It was fun. It just confirmed that it's what I'm looking for," said Webb, who was joined on the trip from the Tulsa area to Stillwater by his cousin Tracy Moore and friend Jeremy Smith, a pair of Union High School standouts who are also committed to the Cowboys.

Webb visited over the weekend with Cowboy offensive line coach Joe Wickline, and was pleased to hear of left tackle Russell Okung's decision last week to bypass the NFL Draft and return for his senior season. "I spent a lot of time with Coach Wickline," he said.

"He's good, so it's going to help us freshmen out," Webb said when asked about Okung. "I'm sure he'll give us some extra help, and we'll be able to learn from him."

Webb spent a lot of time with sophomore-to-be offensive lineman Jonathan Rush. "He's real cool," he said. "The best part was probably just meeting all the recruits and the players who are coming to OSU."
