Recruiting: Porter Picks Up Third Offer

One of the top 10 prospects in Oklahoma is defensive back Tre'Vante Porter of Midwest City (Carl Albert). The 6-0, 175-pound missile had 94 tackles and four interceptions last season for the Class 5A state runner-up Titans, and earned honorable mention All-State and second team All-City.

"I've just been offered by Nebraska," said Porter when asked to give us an update on his recruiting. "I've also got an offer now from Kansas State. That makes three scholarship offers in all with Oklahoma State."

Porter is having a busy spring and that continues this weekend with a track meet in Oklahoma City at Bishop McGuinness. Fans in the OKC area can see the speedster compete in the 100 meters, 200 meters, and the 4X100 relay. We asked Porter if he was planning to check out any schools soon.

"I don't know because my schedule is pretty full with track," he said. "I want to and I want to work my way toward making a decision. It's going to take time and track is the main thing right now."

Good answer as Carl Albert has a chance to win another state championship in track this spring under standout coach Tex Rollins.
