Recruiting: Dixon Joins OSU Offer List

Issac Dixon is the latest player to join the list of those offered a scholarship by Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy and his staff. New Cowboys running backs coach Robert Gillespie, a former South Carolina assistant and Florida Gator running back, has the Miami connections. Dixon is a 5-11, 190-pound linebacker at Monsignor Pace High School.

Dixon could wind up playing the star linebacker position if he is at OSU or he could end up at safety as he has 4.55 speed. He had 125 tackles last season as a junior.

In recruiting, he has been contacted by many schools with offers from Oklahoma State, Oregon, and Mississippi.

"I'm really excited about being offered by Oklahoma State," said Dixon. "I have seen Oklahoma State's facilities on the Internet and I want to go see them in person. I want to see the campus. It is one of my favorite schools but I will have to go visit there and then make my decision."

Oregon is another school Dixon seems to favor. "Oregon is a school I want to visit," said Dixon. "I need to visit to see how it is for me. I have heard great things about Oregon, but I need to see it for myself."

He didn't seem as strong about Mississippi. "I need to see Ole Miss too," siad Dixon. "I need to see how it is for me. It is a good school."

Dixon said he has not decided what to study or major in at college. This spring he is running track for Pace and he has qualified for the district meet next week. He runs the 4X100 meter relay, 4X400 meter relay, and the 200 meters.
