Recruiting: Littlehead Is New DT Offer

Defensive tackles are so hard to come by in recruiting that you can't pass one up when he is close by. Christian Littlehead of Tahlequah (Sequoyah), Okla., is 6-4, 305 pounds and very physical playing for former Oklahoma State quarterback Brent Scott, who is the head coach at Sequoyah High School.

Littlehead, who has a 335-pound max on the bench press and a 485-pound max on the squat, is a candidate to play on either side of the line of scrimmage depending on the school that is offering.

"Yes, Oklahoma State just offered and they are wanting me to play defensive tackle," said Littlehead. "I've got offers from Mississippi, Baylor, Kansas, Kansas State, Colorado State, Nebraska, and Louisville. Right now I kind of like all of them. . I'm pretty open minded. I do think before schools starts I will at least narrow my list of schools.

"Some are interested in me playing defense like Oklahoma State. Some want me on offense, and there are a couple of schools that say either one," continued Littlehead. "It really doesn't bother me. I like playing on both sides or either side, as long as I am playing and helping the team."

Littlehead has played basketball and baseball in the past but he is now just playing football and focused in on getting better. His academics are in good shape and he has already thought about what he would like to major in at college. His three choices are sports medicine, physical therapy, and coaching.

Now back to his football, Littlehead said he is not sure what his forty time is as they have not tested on it in some time at Sequoyah. He does know that at the line of scrimmage he is quick, he depends on it.

"You asked me about which side of the line I want to play on, either side because I think I am pretty even on both sides," explained Littlehead. "It comes down to being quick off the ball. If I get off the ball quick I have the advantage whether I am trying to block an opponent or trying to whup them and get in the backfield."

Littlehead says so far he is enjoying recruiting. "I like it and it is going pretty good, but they call me quite a bit and that is different," added the big lineman.

Eight offers has him plenty happy and in very good shape for his football and academic future.
