"Alabama has offered," exclaimed the 6-0, 173-pound Grimes. "I am very excited and I'm going to talk to Nick Saban tonight. I'm going to call him."
Grimes said he would most definitely be heading to Tuscaloosa to check out Alabama this summer, but he said he still intends on checking out Oklahoma State as well. We asked if this Alabama offer overshadowed his offer last week from Oklahoma State.
"No, not at all," said Grimes. "I am still very excited about Oklahoma State. Yes, I still want to go to Stillwater and check out those great facilities I've heard about."
Grimes strikes us as very diplomatic and he has every right to be excited about the Alabama offer and all of the others as his list is growing all the time.
Add Alabama and Oklahoma State to Miami (Fla.), Iowa, Michigan, West Virginia, Texas Tech, Oregon, Purdue, South Carolina, Maryland, Minnesota, Mississippi, Ohio State, and a few others.
Grimes is involved in spring football right now at Hollywood Hills and he told us that will wrap up on Friday with the spring game. School won't be out there until June 4.
He earned honorable mention all-conference honors last season with 41 total tackles, 5 interceptions, and 12 passes deflected.
