Recruiting: OSU Offers Juco Defensive Tackle

Navarro (Texas) Junior College has been a popular recruiting destination lately for the Oklahoma State coaching staff and reports out of Navarro indicate the Cowboys have targeted another Bulldog. The Cowboys have picked up linebacker Donald Booker and then last recruiting season All-American offensive guard Anthony Morgan. The new target is Navarro defensive tackle Lawrence Rumph.

The Cowboys offered Rumph on Thursday, according to Navarro head coach Nick Bobek. The 6-3, 288 pound Rumph wears a unique number for a defensive tackle, No. 46. He had 35 total tackles with 21 of those unassisted last season. He also had 7 tackles for loss and two sacks on a championship football team in the Southwest Junior College Conference.

Rumph is originally out of Keller, Texas and Fossil Ridge High School near Fort Worth. Rumph is the ninth defensive tackle the Cowboys have offered, and according to our research the second out of the junior college ranks.

Bobek let us know that Rumph has also been offered by Colorado, Colorado State, and Southern Miss.

Rumph, like many of his Navarro teammates, is at home for the first semester of summer school, and will not return to campus at Navarro until later this summer. We tried to reach Rumph at home and left a message.
