Recruiting: Askew Down To OSU, Texas A&M

The third member of the traveling party from San Antonio (Madison), Texas that we talked to was wide receiver Nate Askew. The 6-3, 210-pound pass catcher is quite an athlete and following a trip to Stillwater this weekend with teammates Kris Catlin and Tommie Saunders, Askew is still in a recruiting dead heat with the Cowboys and Texas A&M.

"I am just taking my time but it is down to those tw0 -- Oklahoma State and Texas A&M," said Askew.

"The trip (to Stillwater) went great. I loved it and I was impressed with everything. The facilities are unbelievable, from the weight room to the locker room to the meeting rooms. It was all the best I've ever seen."

Asked when he expects to make his decision, he clearly has a deadline. "Yes, I'm going to do it before the season is here," said Askew. "I want to get it out of the way."

Askew said both schools have their positives and negatives and he seems to be working through those.

Askew finished his junior season with 51 catches for 933 yards and nine touchdowns. He says he can bench 300 pounds, squat 425 and claims a 35-inch vertical jump. He also runs track (10.8 100m; 22.2 200m), but will only focus on football in college.

Askew said he plans to major in sports marketing. Yes, Oklahoma State has a sports marketing program.
