"Jabari (6-3, 235) is doing good, he's bigger and stronger," said older brother Synjyn. "He's going to start at fullback and linebacker. Yes, I'm going both ways too. I'll start on offense and defense, quarterback and safety. Overall, our players came back bigger and stronger. Practice is going good and we have a chance to be a very good team."
Synjyn had been rumored to be close to making a decision on his future home for football and education, but I guess the definition of close is what might get some people.
"I would say two or three games into the season," said Days of when he thought he would be ready to announce a college choice. "It's still all the schools that have offered me -- Oklahoma State, Georgia Tech, Indiana, and Toledo,"
Until then the focus is getting off to an unbeaten start on the season at Hillgrove.
Last season, as a junior, he led Hillgrove into the second round of the playoffs and an 8-4 finish, and had more than 2,000 yards of total offense in earning first team All-State, All-County, and All-Region honors.
Days started as a sophomore at the still very new high school (Hillgrove) and led them to an 8-2 record while leading the county in rushing with 1,500 yards and he also had another 800 yards passing. He was All-County and All-Region along with being second team All-State as a sophomore.
