Guess The Recruiting Class: Installment 13

The Oklahoma State Cowboys recruiting flurry has continued into this week with three more added to the list since we last posted, including one we did not have in Tommie Saunders, but we did list him at one time. However, the Cowboys did pick up two that we had on our most recent list in Chris Littlehead and Joe Okafor.

At the rate the Cowboys are moving on the 2010 class, we may be starting this for the 2011 class before the end of the season, maybe the end of September.

For first time readers of this feature, this is our exercise of trying to guess how the Cowboys final roll call for the recruiting class of 2010 will look when they sign on the dotted line on Wednesday, Feb. 3.

Our batting average started out strong and now it has leveled off. Here's a look at the scoreboard.
Players committed before we started: 3
Players that committed that we did not have listed: 3
Players we had listed that have committed: 16
Players we had listed at the time they committed: 12
Players we had listed that committed to other schools: 8

*QB: Johnny Deaton, 6-3, 185, 4.6, Sand Springs (Charles Page), Okla.
Completely healthy and ready to go for the fall.

*QB: Nathan Sorenson, 6-4, 195, 4.5, Texarkana (Texas), Texas
This could be a huge season at Texas High. They open with Tyler John Tyler.

RB: Joseph Randle, 6-0, 188, 4.45, Wichita (Southeast), Kan.
Cowboys would take Randle if he would commit, and OSU looks to be in his top set of schools.

*WR: Montra Nelson, 6-3, 210, 4.6, Arlington (Bowie), Texas
Nelson really drew great reviews from the Texas 7-on-7 State Championships in College Station, Texas. He is getting more compliments than ever heading into his senior season.

WR: Darius White, 6-4, 210, 4.5, Fort Worth (Dunbar), Texas
No debate here, White is the top high school wide receiver in the nation.

*WR: Kevin Johnson, 6-2, 195, 4.4, Houston (Cy Ridge), Texas
He was up for honors at the Houston Touchdown Club preseason banquet.

*WR: Chris Dinkins, 6-2, 210, 4.4, Tyler (Lee), Texas
Changed his commitment from TCU to OSU after an unofficial visit July 18 to Stillwater. He played safety, but will add quarterback and wide receiver. He is an excellent athlete.

*OL: Dan Koenig, 6-6, 260, 5.1, Cape Coral, Fla.
It reportedly came down to OSU and Nebraska on the tour he made with his parents and the Cowboys won out. He will make a really good tackle in the future.

*OL: Anthony Gerron, OL, 6-3, 305, 5.0, Tyler (John Tyler), Texas
He made an unofficial on the same day as the July half-day camp and committed before leaving. Gerron is standout in basketball that can dunk. He is athletic and has quick feet.

*OL/DT: Chris Littlehead, 6-4, 300, 5.2, Tahlequah (Sequoyah), Okla.
He makes a very attractive one technique. He plays both ways and plays well on both sides. The Cowboys like him on defense, but others were recruiting him for offense.

*DT: Calvin Barnett, 6-3, 315, 5.4, Tulsa (Washington), Okla.
Barnett committed after starting practice at Tulsa Washington in defense of a state crown.

*DT: Diamonte Wheeler, 6-2, 255, 4.95, Arlington (Bowie), Texas
Wheeler picked Oklahoma State over Iowa State, Nebraska, Kansas, and Kansas State. Cowboys were always the leader.

*DE: Chase Rome, 6-3, 285, 4.75, Columbia (Rock Bridge), Mo.
The four-star recruit recently solidified with Cowboys.

*DE: Joe Okafor, 6-6, 250, 4.7, Bellaire, Texas
Okafor completes a dynamite class for the defensive line and he is good friends with Stephen Maeweather.

*LB: Stephen Maeweather, 6-3, 215, 4.6, Houston (Sharpstown), Texas
Very athletic linebacker that committed to the Cowboys early. He is perfect for OLB.

*LB: Caleb Lavey, 6-4, 214, 4.7, Celina, Texas
Another four-star, Lavey looks to be the man inside at MLB. He has worked very hard and is coming off a surgery for shin splints and back to full speed. Look out this season.

*LB: Kris Catlin, 6-1 1/2, 215, 4.6, San Antonio (Madison), Texas
Was one of the first LBers that OSU offered and was almost always near the top of the list. He brought two of his teammates to OSU for an unofficial visit.

*LB: Shaun Lewis, 6-1, 207, 4.55, Sugarland (Hightower), Texas
Cowboys gets one of the best linebackers in Texas in the No. 4-ranked outside linebacker in the nation.

*Star: Tommie Saunders, 6-3, 195, 4.6, San Antonio (Madison), Texas
A safety in high school, Saunders projects as a star linebacker at OSU.

*CB: Devin Hedgepeth, 5-11, 178, 4.5, Derby, Kan.
Standout cover corner from powerhouse Kansas high school program.

*CB: Larry Stephens, 6-0, 180, 4.5, Galena Park (North Shore), Texas
He is the second straight "big" cornerback prospect from North Shore; Andrae May is a freshman at OSU.

*S: Deion Imade, 6-0, 175, 4.4, Rowlett, Texas
Imade made it to the July half-day camp and worked out despite already being committed. He needed to be six foot and he was for Cowboys to be interested.

*S: Lavocheya Cooper, 6-1, 188, 4.5, Arp, Texas
He is one of the premier athletes in the recruiting class. His numbers are off the chart, especially on interceptions and punt and kickoff returns.

S: Tre'Vante Porter, 6-0, 180, 4.5, Midwest City (Carl Albert), Okla.
Plans to commit this Wednesday. He was the fastest camper at the July half-day camp with a 4.47 in the forty.

*Athlete: Justin Gilbert, 6-0, 178, 4.35, Huntsville, Texas
He blazed that 4.35 in camp in Texas and is rapidly rising on lots of charts and lists.
