"Jamal Mosley is leaving our football team for personal reasons," Gundy said in a statement issued by the university. "He has been a good teammate and we wish him the best. We will have no further comment on this matter."
Mosley played in 11 of the Cowboys' 13 games last season as a freshman, and had five catches for 57 yards.
The 6-foot-4, 246-pound sophomore from Memphis, Tenn., was listed as the starting tight end on the depth chart heading into OSU's opener Saturday against Georgia.
The 19-year-old was charged in July with misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Last week, according to an Oklahoma State Courts Network document, a Stillwater woman was granted a temporary emergency protective order against Mosley, according The Oklahoman and The Tuylsa World. The case is scheduled to be reviewed by Special Judge Louis Duel on Wednesday, according to the OSCN.
Sophomore Wilson Youman is listed second on the OSU depth chart, and is expected to start against the Bulldogs in the televised broadcast (ABC Sports).
