Recruiting: Maselera Next To Get OSU Offer?

Junior standout Issac Maselera of Glenpool, Okla., may be the Oklahoma State Cowboys next offer for the class of 2011. Maselera has been tearing it up for the unbeaten Warriors in Class 4A as they are 5-0 fresh off a 62-18 win over Cleveland last Friday.

Maselera came into that game with 30 tackles on the season. The 6-0, 181-pounder is a safety or maybe a star linebacker prospect for Oklahoma State.

"I don't know if I've been offered or not," said Maselera. "I know I've heard they were talking to my coach about it. I haven't received anything in the mail yet. I went to the Georgia game and really liked it and I'm going next to the Texas game."

Maselera's mom is an Oklahoma State grad and he has said he really likes the Cowboys. As far as this season, he is a little modest as he told us when we asked if he was also playing offense that he was playing a little and he had scored a touchdown.

Playing on the same team with standout 2010 class running back Marco Nelson that is committed to Tulsa and has almost 700 yards rushing already, Maselera has scored five rushing touchdowns and tallied in the first game of the season when he bulled in for a one-yard run against Berryhill. The next week in a Tulsa metro showdown with Bixby, he rushed for 71 yards including a six-yard touchdown.

This week the top-rated Glenpool Warriors have the Mannford Pirates. Maselera said he would keep us updated and would let us know if he gets anything in the mail.
