Recruiting: Ford Schedules Visit To OSU

Standout offensive and defensive lineman Antonio Ford of Pahokee, Fla., is heading to Stillwater this weekend for an official recruiting visit with the Oklahoma State Cowboys for the homecoming game with Missouri.

"Yes sir, I've got it set up," said the 6-3, 275-pound Ford. "We have a game Friday with Coral Springs and then I'm heading to Oklahoma. Yes, I may be going with Richard Ash."

Ash is a talented teammate of Ford at Pahokee that also joined him when the two made a Sept. 12 visit to West Virginia.

"I had a lot of fun there," said Ford, who has also got interest in South Florida and has visits set up for Purdue next week and Wake Forest on Oct. 31. "I really enjoyed being around the players and I felt real comfortable there."

Ford said he is interested in Oklahoma State because it is a real solid football program and his recruiting coach, Robert Gillespie, is a solid coach that knows how to treat players.

As for Ford, he runs the forty in 5.1 and has a 325-pound bench press and a 375-pound squat.

"I've been playing good, but actually playing better on defense," said Ford as the Blue Devils at Pahokee are off to a 4-1 start coming off an open week with a 31-20 win over North Broward Prep being their last game. "Most schools are recruiting me to play on either side of the ball. They say it doesn't matter and wherever I want to play, I can be over there."

With his game on Friday, the earliest Ford and Ash might make it to Stillwater would be midday, but with homecoming and the 8:15 p.m. kickoff there will be plenty going on.
