Future Cowboys: In The Playoffs

GoPokes.com has tracked the progress throughout the 2009 season of the high school players who have verbally committed to sign with Oklahoma State in February. Here are the results from this weekend's playoff games.

SATURDAY'S GAMES
GERRON ANTHONY, OL (6-4, 290)
John Tyler (Tyler, Texas) HS Lions
John Tyler lost to Klein by the score of 31-7 on Saturday in a Class 5A Division II quarterfinal playoff game at Waco ISD Stadium. The Lions finish the season 11-2.

JACOB JENKINS, OL (6-3, 260) Gilmer (Texas) HS Buckeyes
The No. 1-ranked Gilmer Buckeyes overcame three turnovers to capture a 42-36 victory over Cuero on Saturday in a Class 3A Division I semifinal game, and will now play in the school's fourth state championship game next weekend. The Buckeyes improve to 14-0 with the victory.

Next: Saturday, Dec. 12, vs. Abilene Wylie in Class 3A Division I state championship game, site and time to be determined.

FRIDAY'S GAMES
DAVIDELL COLLINS, DE-OG (6-6, 254)
Bearden (Bearden, Ark.) HS Bears
Collins and his teammates rolled to a 40-6 victory over Spring Hill on Friday night in a Class 2A semifinal playoff game. Bearden, now 14-0, advances to play in next weekend's 2A state championship game against 8-2A Conference rival Junction City, a 56-0 winner over Magazine in the other semifinal.
Next: Saturday, Dec. 12, vs. Junction City in Class 2A state championship game at Little Rock's War Memorial Stadium.

MONTRA NELSON, WR (6-3, 215)
Bowie (Arlington, Texas) HS Volunteers
Nelson had four catches for 42 yards in his final high school game as Abilene defeated Arlington Bowie 35-7 in a Class 5A Division II quarterfinal game on Friday night at UT-Arlington's Maverick Stadium. The Vols finish the season 11-3.

DIAMONTE WHEELER, DT (6-2, 255)

Arlington Bowie's outstanding season came to an end Friday night with a 35-7 loss to Abilene in a Class 5A Division II quarterfinal game at UT-Arlington's Maverick Stadium. The Vols finish the season 11-3.
