Riley Leads Cowgirls To Upset Victory

STILLWATER - Thanks to Andrea Riley, Tegan Cunningham, Precious Robinson and Lindsey Keller the Oklahoma State Cowgirls will be on the move when the Associated Press Top 25 rankings are released on Monday. The Cowgirls, ranked 23rd in this week's AP poll, knocked off fifth-ranked Baylor 78-65 on Saturday afternoon inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.

Riley scored 43 points (the second time she has scored 40 or more this season) while adding six assists and two steals, and had just one turnover while playing all 40 minutes in leading the Cowgirls to the victory in their Big 12 Conference opener.

The Cowgirls improve to 14-2 with the victory. Baylor is now 13-2.

OSU trailed 36-26 until using a 10-2 run to close out the first half, and then the Cowgirls outscored the Bears 24-4 during the first eight minutes of the second half - with Riley scoring 13 of those 24 points - to go up 60-42.

Cunningham added 14 points and eight rebounds (while also playing the entire game), while Robinson and Keller teamed up to more than equalize Baylor 6-8 standout freshman Brittney Griner.

Griner finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds, but had five of Baylor's 17 turnovers. Robinson, the junior college transfer from Central Arizon, and Keller, the 6-2 freshman from Goddard, Kan., combined for 10 points and 17 rebounds.

The Cowgirls won't have long to celebrate as they travel to Kansas on Tuesday to face the Jayhawks in an 11 a.m. game (to be televised on ESPNU).
