Recruiting: Littlehead Likes OSU Coaches

All-American defensive tackle prospect and Cowboy commitment Chris Littlehead of Tahlequah (Sequoyah), Okla., was back home relaxing Sunday afternoon following his official visit this weekend to Oklahoma State when got in touch with him.

Cowboy fans who have been concerned at various times with whether Littlehead would stay with his commitment or some school would be successful in stealing him away can rest easy after the big 6-4, 300-pounder related how his weekend went.

"It was great, it was a lot of fun," said Littlehead, who also told us his host this weekend was Cowboys former defensive end Jared Glover, who is still involved with the program after suffering a career ending back injury.

"The best part of it was just getting to hang out with the coaching staff because I think they are such great people. Coach (Bill) Young especially is a really good person. I am so happy he's going to be my coach. He is really a funny guy too."

Littlehead had a lot of the same things to say that the other recruits had to about the weekend, including enjoying meeting the current players and getting to know the players in his class, but the coaches were the highlight, along with maybe the food.

"Yes, the food was great," he said. "That was some of the best food I've had in a long time."

Littlehead earned the All-American standard next to his high school career by being chosen and playing in Florida in the Offense-Defense All-American Game. A game where he played well enough to get very positive reviews from those in attendance. He finished with an unassisted tackle and two assisted tackles. He also suffered a slight leg injury, just a tweak according to his coach.

"I thought I played pretty good," he said. "You know there is always room for improvement but looking back on it, I played well in the game and during the practices."

Littlehead is not playing any other sports right now although he is reportedly a pretty good basketball player. He said his focus is on training and on taking classes to get him ready for college.
