The theme was really set when we talked to our first wave of Oklahoma State's official visitors this past weekend. First, it was a large group for an official visit weekend, and second, it was unusual in that all of the prospects were already pledged to OSU. The players and families seemed to enjoy it including offensive lineman Eli Dickerson of College Park High School in The Woodlands, Texas.
"It went really well and I know it wasn't the norm but it was a real cool experience to meet almost all of my future teammates on the same weekend," said Dickerson, who told us he was hosted by Cowboy offensive lineman Casey LaBrue.
The 6-6, 280-pound Dickerson was originally committed to Rice but changed his pledge on an unofficial visit to Oklahoma State for a game this fall. He certainly seemed like he had no regrets following the weekend visit.
"We got a tour of the campus, got to meet the players, and then the offensive line had a meeting with Coach Wick," said Dickerson. "He told us what would be expected of us and that he wanted us to hit the ground running, work our butts off, and never let up."
Dickerson said that sounded fine to him. He will continue finishing up high school and training for the future with Wickline and Oklahoma State.
