Recruiting: OSU Postpones Junior Day

As we speculated earlier on Thursday, Oklahoma State football has postponed its first scheduled Junior Day. Head coach Mike Gundy and his staff were hoping to welcome Saturday some of the top junior football prospects in Oklahoma, Texas, and around the region for a full day to get aquainted with the Cowboys football program.

The severe winter weather forecast for later Friday and throughout Friday night and into Saturday has caused Oklahoma State University to close at 1 p.m. Thursday and to be closed all day on Friday.

Listing the concern in prospects and their families traveling to and from Stillwater, Gundy and his staff have postponed the event and will reschedule it in the near future.

Oklahoma State was expected to bring in several official visitors for the 2010 recruiting effort with signing day next Wednesday, Feb. 3.

It is expected that they will continue to make an effort to get those visitors to Stillwater. The visitors for this weekend include All-American defensive tackle and OSU commitment Calvin Barnett from Tulsa (Washington), Okla., and a late recruit in linebacker A.J. Cunningham of Buford, Ga.
