We caught up with Johnson Wednesday night right after he got home from a school event with Saint Paul's sister school and we asked him right off the bat about his post on Facebook that he had received an offer from Oklahoma State.
"Yes, the coach and I spoke on the phone tonight and he offered me a scholarship," said Johnson. "It was coach Robert Gillespie. I've got 19 offers."
He does indeed including Arkansas, Arizona, Baylor, Kansas State, Louisville, LSU, Memphis, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Nebraska, SMU, Southern Miss, Texas A&M, Tulane, Tennessee, Tulsa, and Central Florida.
"They are all equal," said Johnson, who also said that he did not grow up a fan of any particular school.
"I'm looking at the community and the different programs a school offers," continued Johnson when asked the criteria that is most important in helping him make his decision. "I'm looking at majoring in business management and kinesiology. I don't really have a timetable for my decision but it will be after my senior season. I'm going to take all of my visits."
Johnson said he will try to hit some camps and he has looked around having attended the LSU vs. Louisiana-Lafayette game and also attended Mississippi State Junior Day. He is very personable and seems very sincere that he is looking at categories other than just football in making his decision. This seems to be a very smart and mature young man.
