In football last season he was named All-State by the Clarion Ledger thanks to 55 receptions for 890 yards and 18 touchdowns. Now he also averaged 37.0 yards per kickoff return and took three returns to the house. He had a grand total of 1,491 all-purpose yards.
His coaches say he can beat opposing defensive backs with his feet and his speed, but he also can use his body to post up and make the catch physically.
He has a long list of offers but told us that right now his list of schools he is high on, right off the top of his head, includes Alabama, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Tennessee, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, and Florida State University.
So, how strong is his interest in the Cowboys? "Yes sir, it is pretty strong," answered Singleton.
"They have Coach (Mike) Gundy and he is a really cool coach and a guy I want to have the chance to really get to know. He is a coach I can see myself playing for. Coach (Gunter) Brewer is recruiting me and we talk a lot. I like calling him."
Singleton is really early in the recruiting process in that he has not been on any campuses. He said he was planning on going to Junior Day at Ole Miss but there was a conflict. His goal is to get around to a number of schools this summer but an exact plan hasn't been ironed out as of now.
As far as academics. Singleton really seems like a sharp guy and said that he has not decided on his major but he is leaning toward accounting. That is not something for the feint of heart in academics. Singleton also didn't set a timetable for his recruiting. He is a popular young man and he has a number of schools he wants to see and that want to see him.
