Recruiting: Roland On The Move Next Two Weeks

Greg Powers of has Desmond Roland II out of Richardson (Lake Highlands), Texas ranked as one of the top five wide receivers in the Midlands. I would concur with Powers on that ranking.

The 6-2, 197-pounder is a tremendous athlete and while he is listed by most as a 4.6 in the forty, his father, Desmond, reports that he has dedicated himself this spring in working with a private speed trainer and his time in the forty is down to 4.54. Every bit helps and Roland has a list of some pretty good Division I suitors.

"This weekend we are going up to Nebraska for their spring game and then next week we are going to the Arkansas spring game," said Mr. Roland. "I'm looking for some pretty good write-ups," he added laughing.

Roland made the Oklahoma State junior day back in March and his father said he is still hearing regularly from the Cowboys coaches as they have already offered a scholarship.

"Oklahoma State and Nebraska are really the schools he hears from in the Big 12," said Mr. Roland. "Oh, he is also hearing from Texas Tech, and we were trying to get out there to see them but something came up."

Roland said his son is also interested in TCU, Ole Miss, and LSU. His plan is to get out and see some of these schools and go to some of their camps this summer. The next two weeks it is Nebraska and Arkansas.

"We need to get him somewhere close where I don't have to drive that far," said Mr. Roland, who added that he is eager to make these drives the next two weekends.
