Recruiting: Herschel Sims Commits to OSU

The Oklahoma State Cowboys received one of the biggest commitments in recent years this morning when All-American running back Herschel Sims of Abilene High School in Abilene, Texas, gave his commitment to the Cowboys. The 5-foot-10, 190-pound Sims confirmed his commitment in a text message to around 12:30 p.m. (Central time).

Sims picked Oklahoma State after receiving scholarship offers from USC, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Arizona, Kansas and a list of others.

The five-star prospect is ranked by as the fourth-best running back in the nation, and the 16th-best overall prospect.

Sims led Abilene to a 15-0 record and the Class 5A Division II state championship in 2009, setting school records with 2,260 rushing yards and 32 touchdowns on just 250 carries (an average of nine yards per attempt). He also caught 23 passes for 371 yards and four TDs.

Sims confirmed his commitment in a text to around 12:30 p.m. Thursday.
