"I have an offer from SMU and I spoke with the coach from Wyoming today and he said that once the defensive line coach sees my tape then he thought I would have no problem getting an offer from them," reported Mabry.
"Oklahoma State has talked to me a lot. Coach (Glenn) Spencer, and I've also talked a lot with Coach (Bill) Young. They have said that I'm probably going to get an offer from them. Baylor has talked to me and have said the same thing. I've also talked to Texas A&M and Texas Tech a lot.
"I think I will go to some camps this summer and probably those four (Oklahoma State, Baylor, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech)."
Last season Mabry had 67 tackles and he also had four sacks, teaming up with fellow defenders on more than one occasion at the quarterback. He has solid academic work and that is a major factor for him in picking a school.
"How I like the coaches is important and the academics," he said. "You know what the graduation rate is for the football team and overall what direction the athletic department is going. I know I want to major in business management and finance."
Oddly enough, Mabry started as a fan of a natural school for most kids in Texas and then switched.
"Yes, I started out as a fan of Texa, but as I got older, I really did become a fan of the Oklahoma State Cowboys," said Mabry.
Now, we aren't totally sure on that but he sounded sincere and he could be cheering on those expected scholarship offers from OSU and the other Big 12 schools that are talking to him. We hope he hears from all of them. This is a good young man that is great to talk to and certainly looks good on video.
