Recruiting: Bailey Receives OSU Offer

Standout safety James Bailey of Everman, Texas, has some new recruiting news, but the 6-2, 202-pounder is still a man of few words.

"There's not a whole lot new but I did get an offer from Oklahoma State," he said. "I'm excited. I've seen it and that is a place that I can handle."

Bailey's highlight tape includes a 71-yard kickoff return in last season's opener against powerhouse Waxahachie. He also had a 68-yard punt return in a win over Arlington Seguin.

On the season he averaged 28.5 yards on kickoff returns and 18.8 yards on punt returns. He had 35 tackles on defense with 3 fumble recoveries and 6 interceptions. He also blocked a punt and he is the punter at Everman as he averaged 34.4 yards per punt.

On offense he rushed for 565 yards with 8.4 yards per carry and 6 touchdowns. He caught 6 passes for 181 yards and 3 touchdowns. Add his two return touchdowns and that is 11 touchdowns for the season.

Bailey said he has seen a lot of coaches come through Everman during the evaluation period.

"We are in spring football and 7-on-7 starts up soon," said Bailey when asked what he was up to. "I'm going to run summer track. I haven't made out a schedule yet but I am going to camps this summer. I know I am going to OSU and TCU for camps. I'll be at those."

Besides Oklahoma State and TCU, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and Nebraska have been recruiting Bailey.
