Conference Realignment: Rumors or Facts?

After checking out several things Tuesday night, here are some facts, not rumors.

Colorado's top brass, the school's administration and regents, did meet Tuesday night to go over conference membership options. A spokesperson directly answered the question and said Colorado had not received an invitation from the Pac-10 yet.

Tom Osborne was on KFAB Radio in Omaha Tuesday night and did say he hopes Nebraska's future conference membership can be worked out in the next few days. He did not commit to either the Big 12 or the Big 10.

The rumor of Oklahoma and Texas A&M considering the SEC are totally false and I have to believe they are made up as the SEC is in a capped TV contract that will not bring them any more bucks for now for extra schools. Besides, OU and A&M both want to be with Texas and both want to be with a conference made up of more prestigious learning institutions.

Oklahoma State is in a great position with a good relationship with Texas and with rival Oklahoma. Word is both want OSU included any new conference.

Now it is basically sit back and see what happens with Nebraska, and then the only other question is if Colorado's expected major announcement Wednesday is a peremptory strike to nose out Baylor for the spot in the expanded Pac-10.
