Ty Zimmerman Picks The Other OSU

We received a text Tuesday night from athlete/wide receiver/cornerback Tyrequek Zimmerman of Lawton, Okla., and he let us know that he committed to Oregon State. We texted back looking for details and he came back with the response below in confirming his pledge to Oregon State.

"Because they showed me a lot of love," said Zimmerman in the text. "The slang the ball alot and I'm ready to play. They said they could see me for them as a freshman."

Zimmerman runs a 4.4 in the forty and he competes in track in the 4x100- and 4x400-meter relays, along with the 200 meters.

A three-sport standout, he also competes in basketball as a guard at Lawton. In football last season he was second team All-State as a defensive back with 61 tackles. On offense he may have been even better at wide receiver with 54 receptions for 945 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Zimmerman has good size for a cornerback at 6-0, 180 pounds.
