"I had offers from Oklahoma State and BYU but now Mississippi, Kansas, Texas A&M, SMU ... let's see there are several others, Houston, and Auburn. We just went down to Alabama for a seven-on-seven tournament and we won the whole thing. That is where I got the offer from Auburn. The event was at Auburn.
"We beat a school from Florida in the semifinals and then I don't know who we played in the finals but we beat them. We played 12 games in all. It was a lot of fun and really good that we won the whole thing.
"Oregon is real close to me to," added Sargent in continuing to answer the question about recruiting. "They haven't offered, but I think they are real close."
Sargent said he does not plan on going on any unofficial trips this summer and also said he doesn't have plans to hit any camps other than the seven-on-seven work with his teammates.
"I'm just getting prepared for the season," said Sargent. "I'm working so much on football that I don't have any time for a job."
Sargent is 6-0, 185 pounds and runs a 4.49 in the forty. He also has a 30-inch vertical jump.
Last season as Bowie went through the season unbeaten and advanced in the playoffs, Sargent had 31 tackles, including 19 unassisted. He also had one fumble caused.
"Oklahoma State is still on top of my list, my first pick, but I am open to any schools that are or want to recruit me," said Sargent.
"I know that I want to major in business. I also know that I want to make my decision before the season starts."
Sargent promised us that he would keep our number and update us if anything came up and for sure when he makes his decision.
