Littlehead, Okafor To Join Cowboys

Go Pokes has learned that defensive tackle Christian Littlehead of Tahlequah (Sequoyah), Okla., and defensive end Joe Okafor of Bellaire, Texas have been cleared by the NCAA Eligibility Center to join the Oklahoma State football program and be eligible as student-athletes this season.

Both Littlehead and Okafor, part of a standout 2010 recruiting class for the Cowboys, are expected to arrive in Stillwater as early as Wednesday.

Neither player was put on the initial list of 105 players for fall camp, but by getting to Stillwater on Wednesday they can handle all their academic needs, physicals and testing, housing, and be ready to join the team next week when the squad can be expanded as far as player participating.

The 6-3, 305-pound Littlehead was second team All-State on the offensive line but was recruited by OSU defensive coordinator Bill Young for defensive tackle.

Okafor is a 6-7, 250-pound defensive end that chose OSU over the likes of LSU, California, Arkansas, and Texas Tech.

After a scrimmage on Saturday night, the Cowboys will resume practice on Tuesday. Littlehead and Okafor will need to serve three days of acclimatization before putting on full pads. I believe one of those days can be Monday getting them into pads by Thursday, but that is a guess on my part.
