Overall team performance: D+
The one thing OU did well was defend. It limited Cincy to only 28 points in the first half and was pretty good in the second half as well, although it gave up 10 more points. But the problem was on the other side of the ball. The Sooners couldn't get anything going offensively, struggling to 28.6 percent in the first 20 minutes and hardly better at 33.3 percent for the entire contest. There was no flow offensively, and that's why OU couldn't take advantage of a pretty good defensive outing.
G Cade Davis: F
Davis was off in all phases of the game, hitting only one of his 10 shots on the night, including a 0-for-5 performance from behind the arc. Not to mention, he was a poor 5-of-9 from the free throw line. All of that adds up to just seven points in 39 minutes. The only bright spot was a pair of assists and steals, but besides that, it was a miserable night.
G Steven Pledger: C
He finished with 13 points, but struggled shooting the basketball, like the rest of the team. He managed only two threes on nine attempts and was 3-for-10 overall shooting. Pledger had no assists, but was good from the charity stripe at 5-for-6.
G Cameron Clark: C
Clark was 40 percent from the field on 10 attempts and missed his only free throw on his way to eight points. He tied for the team lead with six rebounds and also had an assist, although he committed three turnovers.
G Carl Blair: B-
Blair racked up a game-high 15 points on 50 percent shooting. He was 6-of-12, as well as 2-for-2 from the line, and he brought down six boards and tossed four assists. But the negative comes once again in the turnover column. Facing Cincy's full court pressure, he turned it over six times in 39 minutes playing time.
F Andrew Fitzgerald: B-
He wasn't great from the field, making only 3-of-8, but he was also perfect from the line, hitting all four of his attempts there to score 10. Additionally, Fitzgerald added five rebounds, three steals, two assists and a block, but he was in foul trouble for a lot of this contest, picking up his fourth with 10:51 left.
The Sooner bench was outscored 19-3 by the Cincy reserves. The lone points off the bench came from forward Nick Thompson, who hit a triple in six minutes playing time. Aside from that, these guys didn't really contribute in 14+ minutes.
