Oklahoma Offers Johnson

Sooners Illustrated caught up with Thomas Johnson, Scout.com 2012 four-star wide receiver prospect out of Skyline HS in Dallas (TX). Johnson is one of the top wide receivers in the state of Texas for next year's recruiting class and earlier today took a trip up to Norman to attend Oklahoma's second junior day.

The Sooners at this moment in time have only offered a hand full of kids. Some of them attended the junior day earlier today while others did not already have one but were hoping for one. One prospect that was on campus today that arrived without an offer but left with one was Johnson.

"Good man," Thomas Johnson said about how he felt about the offer. "I like OU so I'm definitely planning on doing some research on them."

At 6-foot and 175-pounds Johnson is an exciting receiver prospect who makes big plays with the ball in his hands. He missed most of his junior season with a knee injury but finished the year with 20-receptions for 360-yards and two-touchdowns. And with Oklahoma's success with Skyline prospects over the last few years it would appear that Johnson would be yet another prospect for Sooner fans to keep an eye on.

Stay tuned to Sooners Illustrated as Johnson was on his way home when he sent word to SI about the offer and said he would do an interview tomorrow.
