RECRUITING: Waco WR likes OU's system

Waco, Texas receiver Tory DeGrate talks about his visit to Norman and names five favorites

TOREY DEGRATE, WR, 6'0, 180, 4.4, WACO, TEXAS:

Degrate is regarded as one of the top wide receivers in Texas and is considered an outstanding receiver going over the middle. This season will be the third season that Degrate has started at Waco High and he played a big role in Waco going 11-0 while catching 41 passes for 716 yards and 10 touchdowns. As a sophomore Degrate caught 51 passes for 860 yards and 8 touchdowns.

"I consider myself the type of receiver who can catch the ball anywhere," said Degrate. "I don't have a favorite route, but if the quarterback throws the ball in my area I feel I can catch it."

Degrate can bench 235 pounds, and squats 375. He didn't go to any summer camps a year ago, but plans to attend the NIKE camp in College Station and is trying to decide between the Texas and Arkansas summer camps.

"It was pretty cool down there," said Degrate, on his visit to Norman for the Red/White game. "I like the coaches and the players and I like how they operate down there. I was pretty nice in Norman. I like how they use their wide receivers, because they throw the ball around a lot and they use several wide receivers on every play. Oklahoma is one of my top schools that I am considering. I am also looking at Texas, Arkansas, LSU and Texas A&M. I really don't have a favorite at the moment."
