Speedy Athlete is a Sooner!

Sooners Illustrated made a call and got a hold of Rockdale Head Coach Jeff Miller who had some breaking news for Sooner fans on 2012 WR Daniel Brooks who committed to Oklahoma Wednesday night. Check inside for more.

As of last night the Oklahoma Sooners were sitting tight at three commitments so far for the 2012 class. By the end of the night they added their fourth addition to the class when Daniel Brooks decided to become a Sooner.

"Yes sir he did," Rockdale Head Coach Jeff Miller confirmed about Brooks committing to Oklahoma last night.

The 5-foot-10 and 170-pound prospect is listed at receiver but Coach Miller informed Sooners Illustrated that the Sooners recruited him as an athlete. Surprisingly however, Brooks will start off at running back.

"They recruited him as a pure athlete," Miller began. "I know he will start off at running back but he has the ability to play slot receiver, cornerback and even at kick returner."

The Sooners have seemed to be taking a slower approach with offers in the state of Texas. But the few prospects that have received an offer that strategy appears to be paying off.

Stay tuned to Sooners Illustrated as we will work to get a hold of Brooks tonight for a more in depth interview.
