And apparently it went as well as it could have, lasting about three hours with a variety of conversation.
The biggest concerns seem to be the obvious fact that he's coaching at the Division II level right now and what his staff would look like.
What had to impress Castiglione was this:
From an inside source, Evans told the OU AD he would have won 20 games with the same team Jeff Capel's Sooners rolled out in 2010-11, showing that same will to win that has helped him succeed so much at UCO, including a 30-4 season this year.
Evans loves OU, and he's got great connections to some of the high school aged-Oklahoman basketball talent that will emerge at the collegiate level in the next two to three years.
Now, several guys have reportedly fell through the cracks in Castiglione's search, including Marquette's Buzz Williams, BYU's Dave Rose, Memphis' Josh Pastner and UNLV's Lon Kruger, which no doubt led to this interview with Evans.
